Patient satisfaction regarding orthodontic treatment at the department of orthodontics, faculty of dental medicine, Sofia. Questionary survey

Introduction: patient feedback is a critical metric for assessing the quality of healthcare services and the engagement level of the dentists. patient satisfaction plays a significant role in adherence to orthodontic treatment, which is usually long lasting and demanding. motivated and cooperative patients are more likely to follow the proposed treatment plan, attend appointments at time, and achieve better treatment outcomes, leading to mutual satisfaction for both patient and clinician.
aim: the aim of this study is to identify the factors influencing patient satisfaction with orthodontic treatment at the faculty of dental medicine (fdm) in mu-sofia. as well to explore the reasons patients seek orthodontic care, the relationship between initial dental deformation and satisfaction levels, and the challenges faced during treatment.
materials and methods: the survey included 52 patients undergoing fixed appliance orthodontic treatment by postgraduate residents in orthodontics at the department of orthodontics, fdm-sofia, between 2021 and 2024. each participant completed a written questionnaire with 12 written questions.
results: participants were 38% male and 62% female. the results from both sexes revealed high levels of satisfaction in the treatment outcomes and the quality of care provided at fdm-sofia.
Conclusion: the survey demonstrated that patients undergoing orthodontic treatment at fdm-sofia are highly satisfied with their results, and the challenges encountered during treatment were minimal.
